Feed me some love Baby!

Many people eat too much (and exercise too little!) And become too fat because of that, we all agree on that, right?

Many people also eat too unhealthily, and (partly) because of this all kinds of illnesses arise, and people feel less fit, we all agree on that too, right?

The answer is no!

Nowadays, many companies state that there is no '' good '' or '' wrong '' food. They suggest that your body can only distinguish micro- (fibers, vitamins and minerals) and macronutrients (carbohydrates, proteins and fats), no matter where it comes from. For example, according to many of these agencies it doesn’t matter if you eat a chocolate bar and an oliebol or a banana and an avocado. As long as you have reached all your micro and macronutrients at the end of the day, without getting too many calories, because that is the only thing that your body can count anyway?

What does the science say?

When you scrintizes scientific based evidence on good or bad food, the only conclusion is that we know too little of too much. You can find evidence for every argument you like. But if you look deeper into the research, you find that most of the research projects are of poor quality. Recently NRC posted a very interesting article ā€˜When you stand with your back against the wall, you act out’ about this subject [1]. The author suggests merging all patients’ experiences with healthy and unhealthy eating determined through self-examination. All those experiences together provide incredibly useful information of a large population. Thereby, it is very important to learn to listen to your body, and experience what kind of food, portion sizes, and timing works or doesn’t work for you! So, his question is, why wait for science if you already can take steps now by listing to your own body?

Our beliefs!

We believe that you should not overeat and nourish your body with unprocessed food including all the necessary nutrients.

We believe that portion size (not overeating), unprocessed food, and self-examination of your body and mind response on food are the main pillars of healthy body nourishment.

Processed food contains chemical substances as they play an important role in food production and preservation. These chemical substances can, for example, prolong the shelf life of foods; others, such as colors, can make food more attractive. Flavoring chemicals are used to make food tastier. You don’t have to be a scientist to understand that putting chemical ingredients into your body reflects on your wellbeing.

Your immune system becomes activated when your body recognizes anything that is foreign such as an invading microbe, plant pollen, or chemical. This often triggers a process called inflammation. In order to fight threatening invaders with this inflammation reaction, your body uses a lot of energy - making you feel less energetic. (Ever felt tired after a big unhealthy meal?) However, sometimes inflammation persists, for example by eating chemical processed food or meat day in and day out. That's when inflammation can become your enemy. Many major diseases including cancer, heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, depression, and Alzheimer's disease are linked to chronic inflammation. The inflammation triggers body cells to act in the wrong way, which in the end could result in major diseases as state above.

One of the most powerful tools to combat inflammation comes not from the pharmacy, but from the grocery store!

Anti-inflammatory foods An anti-inflammatory diet should include these foods: Tomatoes, olive oil, green leafy vegetables, such as spinach, kale, and collards, nuts like almonds and walnuts, fatty fish like salmon, mackerel, tuna, and sardines, and fruits such as strawberries, blueberries, cherries, and oranges.

And there are several ways you can accomplish this. Many people work with a focus on calorie restriction. If this works for you, that’s all fine. Personally, I get hangry and tired. Small portions of toxins doesn’t work for me!

We believe in the use of pure and unprocessed ingredients with focus on the so-called ''healing'' foods, including a lot of fiber, little salt and less calories.

Our delicious food is selected for a body detox that will also aid weight loss (or gain if you are on our building plan) and is so nutritionally dense that you burst of energy and don’t feel hungry. Our menu is mainly plant based with no sugar, additives or chemicals.

Aaaaand Action!

Curious what food can do for you?

Draw up a few '' rules '' with the focus on eating healthy products. Try it out and see for yourself. If your able to maintain 80% of the rules, you are doing it awesome. Don’t be too hard on yourself, every small improvement is a win.

In the meantime, researchers will continue to investigate a healthy diet.

The rules

Little or no use of meat and animal fat. It is recommended to use organic meat.

No use of industrially prepared and refined food.

Little coffee (max 1 cup a day) and no alcohol.
